Her-spectives is a conference and Bible study based primarily on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. It has been developed for the Christian woman who seeks to cultivate her relationship with the Lord, enabling her to reflect on her witness and walk as a Christian in today’s world.

The message of Ephesians describes the love of God that reaches out to sinners. It explains the transforming power of the Spirit and the value and purpose of unity in the Body of Christ. It goes on to teach about the empowering nature of the Holy Spirit, how he works in us and with us to bring our lives into correspondence with the character of God, directly impacting how we live in a fallen world.

Ephesians employs theological concepts assumed by the writer to be relevant to the life of everyone in the church. It begins with a prayer referencing the triune God (1:3-14) the doctrine of predestination (1:5, 11), and the blessing of redemption (1:7). It is followed by a reminder of the nature of grace (2:1-10), the power of the gospel to Gentiles as well as Jews (3:1-6), and culminates in the Christian ethic, a way of life that glorifies God and brings joy and peace to day to day living. While the latter may seem to be the most practical aspect of the overall message, each chapter of Ephesians is intrinsically valuable to the life of every believer.

Her-spectives promotes a life that is grounded in a biblical Christian worldview, one that includes an understanding of core theological truths and their daily relevance. Through an examination of cultural themes and issues that impact each of us in some way, we are able to extend Paul’s message of godly living into our contemporary context, evaluating our walk during this period of history according to the timeless Word of God.
